The winners of the Who Wants To Be A Thousandnaire contest organised by the Student Union of the University have bemoaned the failure of the Union to give them their prizes.

The event which took place at the SU Event centre on Tuesday 25th October, 2016 had Ayoade Sheriff, a 300 level student of the Department of Political Science, winning fifteen thousand naira.  Ayoade, in a phone interview with our correspondent, bitterly lamented that neither he nor the other two winners had been given any money by the Union.

He added that the Student Union Vice President, Miss Okusanmi Aderoju had promised the winners that their money would be given to them at the SU dinner which took place Sunday, 30th October, 2016. He laments that, “I bought the dinner ticket in hopes that I would be given my money but nothing happened at the dinner.”

He said all efforts to reach her since yesterday proved abortive as she had not been responding to her calls.

AFAS Press was unable to reach the Student Union Vice President, Miss Okusanmi Aderoju as at the time of writing this report because she had not been picking her calls.

It would be recalled that the Oyo state governor, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi gifted the Student Union a sum of 1 million naira to launch the commencement of the SU Week.

More details coming soon
