University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre Inter-Facullty Soccer Competition began around 10am today 18th July, 2016 at the Awo Stadium, University of Ibadan.
The Opening match saw Defending Champion, Faculty of Science play against Faculty Of Arts.
The first half of the game was on a high spirit as Faculty of Arts dominated well against the Fac. Of Science but a superb strike from Abass was enough for Fac.Of Science to take the lead few minutes into the Second Half.
One of the players from Fac. Of Science got booked twice and was given a Red card but Fac.of Arts couldn't utilise that opportunity well to get back into the game as they bow out of the Competition while Abass's goal put Fac.of Science in the Final.
Second Fixture of the competition was a glorious match to watch as Fac.of Social Sciences and Fac. Of Education battled hard for the Final spot.
Lot of amazing actions from both sides including a lovely shot from one of the players from Fac. Of Social Sciences hitting the crossbar.
A slight error from Fac. Of Education defense claimed a goal for Fac.of Social Sciences with the referee pointing to the penalty spot after a foul was committed by one of Fac. Of Education''s defenders
All hopes were on Fac. Of Social Sciences player, Yusuff as he stepped up to take the penalty and eventually he made it happen giving his team a comfortable lead against their opponent..
Yusuff's strike from the penalty spot was enough for Fac. Of Social Science to go all the way to the Final stage of the competition after the referee blew the final whistle for the closure of the match.
The Finals would be taking place tomorrow by 10am at Awo Stadium, University of Ibadan as Defending Champion, Faculty of Science will be playing against Faculty of Social Sciences.
Who will be the Champion?? Will Fac. Of Science retain their title or will Fac. Of Social Sciences be crowned the New Champion??
