Thief caught along Kenneth Dike Library, University Of Ibadan narrow way around 7:45pm on the 23rd of October, 2019. The thief was apprehended while trying to steal a Nokia phone from a student of the University.
According to our sources, the thief asked the victim for the exact time before trying to snatch his phone around the KDL-Tennis court walkway.
The sources also revealed that the victim was beaten mercilessly by the culprit for failing to release his phone before some students of the University and one of the Librarians came to his rescue while he was struggling and shouting for help.
During a video confession of the culprit, he revealed his usual strategy which failed tonight. He said;
“I asked him for the exact time to gain his attention then used pepper spray for his eyes so I could be able to snatch the phone and run away. I’m not a student of this University but I do come around to play football.”
After being apprehended, he was handed over to the University Security unit (Abefele) who revealed that he has been on their wanted list for notorious occurrences which has been happening within the University community.
