EFIWE NEWS: SIGMA CLUB UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA, ABUJA

Sigma Club, University of Ibadan, the oldest surviving Students’ Organization in Sub-Saharan Africa, pays a courtesy visit to Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR)on Media and Publicity, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Founded in 1950, Sigma Club, University of Ibadan, the architect of the glorious Havana Musical Carnival, is a social and philanthropic students’ organization with considerable focus on good character, discipline, integrity and national development.

After series of security protocols and checks, Mr. Femi Adesina, who was the first Nigerian journalist inducted into the highly revered Sigma Roll of Honour as an Honorary Sigmite, finally welcomed the Sigma Chief, the Deputy Sigma Chief, Loyalist ABIODUN, S.O and Old Sigmite Olatosho Akinrinola in his office at Abuja.

The Sigma Chief, OYETUNDE OLUWAMUYIWA, expressed much appreciation and delight at the invitation and honour the club was accorded. Major Sigma projects for the year were put forward and discussed, including the upcoming Sigma Music Fiesta/Miss Elegant 2019, 10th Sigma Public Lecture and others. 

The Honorary Sigmites Reunion, an event that tends to bring together all the Honorary Sigmites inducted into the Sigma Roll of Honour and women conferred with the special Sigma Award for Women of Distinction, to fraternize among themselves and with other Sigmites, as well as provide sustainable legacies essential in the timely repositioning of the great club, was suggested by Mr. Femi Adesina. 

Mr. Femi Adesina received the trio gleefully and reciprocated his appreciation for the visit. He reaffirmed his support and contribution to see to the actualization of the promised projects. He also gave assurances that he would continue to assist the club in her intellectual, social and philanthropic gestures.
