EFIWE NEWS: 2016/17 Second Semester Exams To Start Nov. 6th | For UIDLC Students

UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN DISTANCE LEARNING CENTRE (DLC)

REVIEWED 2016/2017 SECOND SEMESTER ACADEMIC CALENDAR

The Director, on behalf of the Management of the Centre wishes to commend you for your relentless support for the DLC despite the unexpected turn of events in the course of this session. The Centre shifted ground on the deadline for payment of tuition fee twice yet held the first semester examination, though a week behind schedule. By this magnanimity, many learners had ample opportunity to pay up and register in due time and subsequently wrote the first semester examinations.

You would recall that this is the reason why Continuous Assessment tests were rescheduled to be deployed after the examinations. It is also very unfortunate that the Centre’s activities, especially the examinations, were affected by the national strike of unions. Your corporation and understanding in the face of this turn of events depicted the maturity and decorum DLC learners are perceived to possess.

Consequent upon the suspension of the strike actions, it is apparent that the second semester calendar has to be reviewed bearing in mind that the Centre has lost six weeks. The Centre in a dogged bid to uphold its resolve to stabilize its academic activities has maintained an uncompromising stand to round off the 2016/2017 session by December, 2017. Therefore, you are to note the schedule below:

Second Semester Revision/Interactive Session commences on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Second Semester CA Administration (CBT-Based CA would be deployed immediately after examinations, Essay-Based CA would be deployed during the Interactive Session)

Second Semester Examination commences on Monday, November 6, 2017.

Furthermore, be informed that a draft examination timetable would be released on Friday, October 13, 2017 for your reactions. Note that there would be ONLY one draft examination timetable before a final timetable is released. The Second Semester Interactive Session timetable would be broadcast on Saturday, October 30, 2017.

For outstanding 2015/2016 graduating learners, be informed that the DLC Board of Examiners’ meeting would hold in the month of October to consider final results from programme units. However, whilst assuring concerned learners that they would graduate in their due session, their names would not be in the Order of Proceedings of the 2017 convocation ceremony. Information which reached the Centre was that the Order of Proceedings were already in the press.
