Read Below:

Can We meet you?

Yes thank you.  I'm Adole Israel Godfrey Ogagbolo also known as AIG. A 300 Level Student from the Departmnt of Chemistry.

An aspirant for the position of the House Secretary of the Students' Union University of Ibadan.

Any previous post held before?

Within the University, I haven't held any SU Executive position but I'm currently the Majority Leader of Kenneth Mellanby Hall.

Why House Secretary?

Basically, the House Sec. is a central position aside from the President, through which one with a genuine intention can actually exercise his or mandate regarding the general student welfare as well as the state of the SU properties.

What does UISU mean to you?

Aside from the literal meaning, UISU encompass the body of Students coming together with a unity of purpose for the common good of all, within and outside the university walls(ideally).

What's the relevance of the House Sec. Office to vibrant Unionism?

The vibrancy of our beloved union categorically depend on the vibrancy of its members and the vibrancy of the members have direct bearing with their social security, and of course, from what they could see for themselves regarding the state of union which is constitutional function of the House Sec.

What is Aluta to you?

Aluta literally means Struggle but with respect to Students' Unionism, it is a tactical way of getting things done regarding Students' requests, after exhausting all diplomatic measures and dialogue.

What's the role of Aluta for vibrant Unionism?

Aluta as a last resort plays a critical role with respect to a vibrant union.

It is a way of proving to the people (or management) that: "the power of the people is more than the people in power" and by so doing, most of the just and ideal request of the students can be met.

How many Aluta have you participated in?

The truth is that: I have participated in most aluta in the University, but not actively in a sense and this is due to the fact that, the majority of the student populace are not being carried along during most of our Aluta.

And as intellectuals, you don't just jump into something like that without personal conviction or convinced information.

Do you see the need for an House Sec. to be alutaistic? If Yes, Why?

Infact, He or She should be the convener or forerunner of any aluta, because whatever we are demanding for during aluta is with respect to the condition of the SU members, whose interest is his or her constitutional function.

What is/are the flaws of the current House Sec.?

Objectively speaking, Osas is one of the present executive that have little or no critics at all. And that explains everything.

Come 29 April, Do you think you'll win at the polls? If yes why? And if you lose, are you ready to share your ideas with the eventual winner?

By the grace of God, YES.

I want to believe that uites will be wise enough not to allow sentiment (of: coursemate, hallmate, facultymate, departmentalmate statemate, first to meet me, popularity, handsomeness/beautiful) cloud their sense of reasoning, especially during this critical stage of our Union.

Of course, I want to equally believe that: we are all out for the position for the betterment of our beloved Union, and i will be more than willing to assist if need arises.

What's your stand on the no banner, poster recommendation of the hallowed chamber to the UISUEC?

Infact, I stood with the recommendation before the SRC intervene.

Let truth be told, there are some certain things i consider as unnecessaries. And some are of the opinion that: "how do you expect the aspirants to publicize themselves with the recommendation?".

And my response is that: 95% of uites are on social media and if they are not, then, they must have friends who are on social media.

And besides, most of the information in the university community are communicated via social media. Lets not be dogmatic with the way we do things as intellectuals.

For the fact that somethings used to be done in a particular way, does not mean that it cannot be changed. Greatest uites,  i believe that: where there is a will, there will always be way.

And finally, spending so much on SU elections where you are not being paid is really absurd(especially when you are not a charity organization).

Let us not give our aspirant any reason to engage in an unacceptable vices regarding the Union funds.

I tell you most solemnly: if you truly want to work, there is nothing to take from the Union.

What role have you played so far as the majority leader and member of the sixth assembly (stewardship report)?

I have contibuted my intellectual quota to the progress of our union, and any honourable in the sixth assembly can testify to this.

Also, much have been achieved in terms of accommodation of my fellow honourable in my constituency as well as the courtesy visit paid to mellanbite for effective representation.

And all this were achieved with the resonating support of my executive hall Chairman.

What defines the success of an su dispensation?

A lot of things are actually involved, but succintly:
The ability to defend the just interest of the Union members.

The capability to carry the rest of the union members along in decision making and the steadfastness of the union leaders come what may.

Why are you better than your opponent?

I personally believe that no one is actually or ideally better in this life, everyone is better in his or her own way.

Frankly speaking, I'm not contesting because i feel that I'm much better, only that I believe and trust my ability and capability of delivering better.

Ojo Aderemi, Igbonekwu Val, Hamzat Abass, Ogeleyinbo B.J ; Which of them is your favorite and which are you pitching your tent with?

My response will definitely be indifferent at this point but I won't fail to vote the person whom I feel is the right man for the job and that is classified at the moment.

Your partisan shot or Shoutout?

All glory to God for everything...
My unreserved appreciation to all the members of the group for their patience, understanding, cooperation and anticipated support.

And I won't fail to appreciate those who still have the true interest of our beloved Union in mind, those who believe that resuscitation and sustainable changes can still be achieved.

God bless UISU
God bless the University of I badman
And God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria...
