GREATEST UITES!!!

SPECIAL RELEASE: ON THE RECENT INTERNAL MEMORANDUM

Revolutionary Greetings...

With regards to the recent internal memorandum circulated last week, it becomes very imperative at a very critical and conscious moment as this for the leadership of the Students’ Union to give our stand on some of the resolutions passed on the memorandum.

It should however be noted that the current Students' Union Executives were not informed neither was any copy sent to the President and the SRC Speaker. After reading through the memorandum, the Students' Union Executive Council wrote to the Management of the University and was able to get a reversal on the time to end dinner within the school premises. The time to end all dinners within the school has been extended from 7pm to 10pm.

Meanwhile, earlier today there was a joint meeting of the Students' Union Executive Council, Principal Officers of the Students' Representative Council (SRC), Hall Chairpersons, Faculty Presidents and Union of Campus Journalist (UCJ), where represented bodies deliberated on the issues at hand and eventually succeeded in proffering more lasting solutions. The Students' Union accentuate the fact that all the policies on the internal memorandum are anti-students, uncivil and not in compliance with the ideal, thereby stand REJECTED by the Students' Union. The Chief Security Officer (CSO) was invited to the meeting and it was clearly stated that "on no account should any students gathering be harassed by security agents (Abefele) except law and order is broken" throughout the moments of various Hall, Faculty and Departmental Week celebration.

We are peace loving students and the management should respect that. Nevertheless, it should be noted that "peace is the absence of violence" and we urge the management not to evoke violence into our peaceful community.

You may feel free to contact the Union leadership on any area that needs clarity, and do have a wonderful S.U Week, Hall Week, Faculty Week and Departmental Week.

VIVA ALUTA!!!

GOD BLESS OUR UNION
