All roads led to the biggest Stadium in Ibadan, Awo Stadium, University of Ibadan as Defending Champions Fac.Of Sciences met with underdogs Fac. Of Social sciences for the Finals of the UIDLC Sports Competition.
The Finals kicked off at 10am with Fac. Of Social sciences taking the lead few minutes into the first half all thanks to their Top striker, Yusuff who scored with a powerful header after converting a free kick from his teammate into goal.
Yusuff's goal made him add to his goal tally as He became the Highest goalscorer of the Competition with 2goals.
Fans of Defending Champion, Faculty of Science were expecting their players to get back into the game with a leveler but unfortunately that didn't come in the first half.
Second half of the Finals got underway with all hopes on Defending champions, FAS to step up their game and give their fans that moment they have all been waiting for but unfortunately a slight error from the defenders cost them not only another goal but also a loss on their title as Kunle Askunlerry didn't waste much time as he kicked the ball into the net to seal the win for Fac. Of Social Sciences against their rivals.
Fans of Fac.Of Sciences were not only sad but they were also disappointed for losing their title to their rivals despite all efforts but in a game, there's always a winner and a loser so they kept on cheering up their players.
The referee finally blew the whistle after a dramatic display from both teams but it just couldn't change the scorelines as Faculty of Social Sciences emerges as the New Champions, UIDLC Football Competition 2016.
